Elephants on the Circle

Back in August, the circus was in town. One of the features leading up to the actual event is the Elephant Walk. The elephants walk from the fieldhouse to the circle and then get to enjoy some treats.

Look closely at the second picture, as she's walking off with an entire watermelon in her trunk. Very Cute!!!

A Better Way...

People! Spend less time complaining about the bad things or the things that annoy you, and try to come up with a solution. For example:

  • Parents shopping with loud children have often annoyed me. I'd roll my eyes, and say to myself "Shut that kid up, or I'll shut him up for you". My new strategy is to laugh at whatever the kid is doing. My goal is to get the kid to continue the obxnious behavior long after they have left the store. Hopefully the parent will then realize how annoying their child is! LOL :-)

Tow Time

One of my favorite office games at a previous company was "Tow Time". Every day at 3:00 pm, we'd look out our windows to catch cars being towed! You see, certain lanes of Illinois Street in downtown Indianapolis do not allow parking between 3:00 and 6:00 to facilitate rush hour. Thus, every day precisely at 3:00, a line of tow trucks would show up, and begin towing cars that were now in the no parking lane. We'd guess as to which car would get towed before it's owner returned, and laugh at those people running after their car as it was being pulled away. Let's never forget the one lady who seemed to be arguing her point with the policeman!

Today, while strolling outside with Rand, we happened to stumble upon Tow Time in action! Ahhh... it's good to see this tradition continues, eventhough I no longer work at the company where we had a birds-eye view on all the action.

Go Kyle Go!!!

I didn't even get a chance to cheer the famous "Go Kyle Go" chant before my youngest nephew darted towards the goal to score within the opening seconds of his first game of the season! Go Kyle Go!!!

New Favorite Joke - Part 6

Kudos to Debbie for this one... :-)
--------------------------------------------------------------

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!"

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps. She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The happy woman says, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?

"The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!"
