1. I don't want to throw John Doe under a bus, but... (just come out and say John Doe is wrong, or John Doe messed up)
2. In times like these... (Just say yes or no.. no excuse is needed)
3. I apologize... (come on.. just say... "I'm sorry")

I'm not entirely sure why, but these phrases drive me nuts!
