Roundabout Rules

The northside of Indianapolis is now the home of several Roundabouts. They certainly help reduce traffic jams and are just plain fun!!! Not sure what to do when approaching a Roundabout??? Just follow these steps as provided by the US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration.
  • Entering traffic yields to circulating traffic.
  • Circulating traffic always keeps moving.

  • Lori,
Chris loves roundabouts, he's a traffic engineer, that's why we live in the country, he say just because he works in traffic doesn't mean he wants to live in it.
We go round our roundabouts clockwise .He say they work when the power is off , you can grow (low) stuff in them , they result in far less severe injuries (if they are designed properly)they slow traffic down but can be a bit tricky for pedestrians and cyclists , sorry I'm ranting .
