Yes! In 1992, I went on a camping trip with some friends. We decided to try out some of the trails thru the forest. The trail kept narrowing, but we kept going. About an hour into our "hike", we knew we were lost.
We tried to follow our path back, but that only confused us even more. I really thought we were going to end up spending the night in the woods. My heart was pounding, and I really felt sick to my stomach!
After a couple more hours of wandering around in the woods, we stumbled upon a gravel path.
We started following the gravel path, and about 45 minutes later, a van happened to be traveling towards us. Luckily, they picked us up and safely delivered us to our campsite which was around four miles away.
It takes a lot to scare me nowadays, but here are a few things that have scared me in the past. (I'm also gonna throw out a list of the things that scare my little furry friend, Jacksen).
1) Fred Krueger lived in my parent's basement for about 6 years throughout my childhood. I was happy when he moved out and got an apartment on the east side of town.
2) I saw "The Shining" when I was 10. My sister was 8 at the time, so my brother joked about us being the two scary girls in that movie and I didn't like that at all.
3) My parents took me camping in an RV when I was only about 5 or 6. I woke up in the middle of the night and all the rest of my family was out night fishing. I had no clue and started screaming bloody murder waking up half the camp ground. :)
Jacksen: 1) Deathly afraid of ceiling fans 2) Very much dislikes thunderstorms 3) Has a love/hate relationship with plastic grocery bags 4) and his number 1 scariest thought is being left all alone for too long. :(
Truly scared, well yes, there are several things that scare me:
1. Right now being pregnant, I am really scared on many levels. Is the baby going to be okay, are we going to lose the baby, are we going to be good parents, will we provide enough for our child(ren).
2. The delivery. Knowing I have to have a c-section, being aware ahead of time about it and being wiser than when I was 21 when I had one, I am so afraid that something terrible is going to happen where either I or the baby dies during the surgery.
3. The DARK! I am so afraid of the dark. That is something I have been afraid of since I was a little girl. Whenever I go anywhere in our house I have to turn on all the lights. That has proven to be a problem going to pee in the middle of the night. So there is a nightlight in the hall near our bedroom bathroom so I have some light to walk to the bathroom, even though it is probably not more than 10-15 steps.
4. Haunted Houses. I have a HORRIBLE experience when I was in my teens. We had went to Hanna (I think) and Chucky with the chainsaw was there and I truly felt like he was chasing me with the chainsaw and my hair got caught in the mess. Ever since then I have not step foot inside a haunted house.
There are other things I am scared of, but that for now is the major stuff on my list.
