Let me start by saying, that I have a cold right now, so it's easy to answer this.
When I have a cold, I am grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. Practically nothing, except for Bogie, will make me smile when I have a cold.
I prefer to stay in bed, sleep it off, and I consider diet coke a solution for the often prescribed "drink extra fluids"! :-) Since I don't like chicken soup when I'm well, WHY would I want it when I'm sick? Instead, I want Mac and Cheese!
As my friends can tell you, I get a loud hacking cough, that can wake the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the cough lingers for a couple weeks after all other symptons are gone.
Finally, since there is no cure for the common cold, I rarely go to the doctor. I prefer to tough it out with my favorite 12-hour cold medicine and super strong cough syrup.
As most of you know, I can be high maintenance at times. When I am sick, I do not stop that neediness for anyone.
I am really grouchy and irritable. The littlest thing can set me off. I want to be left alone, not work, not speak and I would just like to sleep.
Now as far as colds go, I have found something new that annoys me about people. There are people that come to work, and I am not necessarily saying my office, with illnesses and temperatures that they should be staying at home with, in my opinion. Offices are breeding grounds for germs, just like childcare centers. LEAVE THE GERMS AT HOME!
Also, even though I like to be left alone when I have a cold, I do play the helpless part pretty well. I always ask my husband to get me something, even though I am closer to the kitchen, etc.
